FOTD Tutorial::112410

Hey Everybody (aka my 3 friends)!!!!!!! I know it's been a week or 2 since i last posted. Today i decided to do something a little different. I'm posting my FOTD and will also be doing sort of a tutorial to show you the steps i take to achieve my look.

Every year MAC has a christmas collection with special edition sizes of different things. The collection this year is themed as "A Tartan Tale" which mimics an irish feel with plaid items. It's very cute and somewhat affordable. This year i took advantage of it and purchased 2 of the Pigment Sets and Her Blooming Lovely blush which is a BEAUTIFUL vibrant bright fuscia Pink!!!! AKA Made for Dori Christian. You can see that i am wearing the blush in the pictures above;)
ANYWAYS... I used a few of the pigments from the christmas collection as seen below.
First i primed my lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion which i depotted. It's in the smaller container below. Then i lightly primed my lid with Painterly Paintpot for a clean and smooth canvas.

Then i patted gently the Silver Fog pigment on to the inner third of my eyelid. It's very sheer and adds a pop of shine. If anyone knows me they know i love the shine and spotlight.

Then because i don't really have a well defined crease i like to sort of create a crease for myself with Wedge eyeshadow from MAC
After that i put Softwash Grey on the Outer third of my lid and slightly blended it with Silver Fog. Then i kind of brought a little up to blend in with the wedge on my "selfmade" crease. Again this is a sheertone.
Then i took Mauvement and swept it into the crease and slightly above so that the light color will shine through the top.
Now comes the fun part. It's my favorite color Sketch which i use practically every day. If i would recommend one color to someone from MAC it would definatly be this color! It's just gorgeous and blends with almost every color! LOVE LOVE LOVE. So i swirl my 224 brush into the sketch, then i kind of tap it onto a paper towel because it is so pigmented it will smush the color into the brush which helps to blend the color evenly. I sweep it into the crease. if you cant find the crease of your eye, place your brush between where your eyeball is and your bone that is right above the lid. open your eye and sweep your brush back and forth. The picture below kind of shows what i mean;)
Then, because i can't be neutral... ever, i added a POP of color. I used Free to be from MAC which is a corally pinky orangy beautiful whatever. I plopped it on the outside of sketch and blended the heck out of the two so that i could create a gradual fade effect to the highlight.
Next of course was the highlight which because i'm as white as a ghost i mix Vanilla and Gesso and it's the perfect highlight color for me... Casper.
Everyone's favorite part, well at least mine is, is the inner color highlight. I took Crystal Avalanch and popped it on the inside and blended it over into Silver Fog and up into Sketch. It makes the eyes appear larger and more awake!! So even if you go out all night and have work in the morning you can add this little pop of color to your inner corner and you look like you went to sleep at 6:00 pm like i did.
A lot of people don't think to use eyeshadow on the bottom lid but i say why not?!?!?! i took the golden color of my nars Cheyenne duo and swiped it on the inner lower lid and put the darker on the outside. This is my favorite trick to sweep the darker color from the lower lid and make a c shape straight up to your upper lid. it instantly creates a beautiful smokey effect. all you have to do is blend it out and you can be as pretty as me! JK... but really.
Then i do the normal, eyeliner and mascara. Then i put my Urban Decay eyeliner in 24/7 on my upper and lower waterline. If you want your waterline to stay all day a good trick is to set it with a matte black shadow. Anything WITHOUT shimmer will do. NYX has a great drugstore matte black but i used my MUFE.
I used my new favorite lipstick which is Rimmel Pink Blush which my mama bought me!! :) ty mama! To add a pop i took Reflects Pearl Pigment and dabbed it on the top and bottom of my lips only in the middle. it gives the effect of gloss without wearing any and brings the attention to your lips. It's subtle, yet beautiful!
I hope someone tries this look! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! and Eat a bunch! I know i will!
