FOTD 113010!

Jaws music... dun nuh...

DUN NUH

DORI WITH NO MAKE UP AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I couldn't scare everybody with that so I added it underneath the pretty look of the day.

I wanted to go with a Fresh Dewy look today. It's cold out here and I love the winter so here we go.

My fragrance of the Day is this sample of Miss Dior Cherie that I got from Sephora a while back. Yes the little thing is a hassle, but I think this is a great smell for the winter. I like it, but I don't think I will be purchasing a whole bottle anytime soon. Hence the fact that I've probably had the sample for about a year. Here's a tip. Go to Sephora and ask them for a sample of anything you want to try. It's free, and you can see if you will wear it often enough to purchase a full size. I will just stick with my Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb as my go to fragrance for the winter. If you havent had a chance to smell it, go right now! It's not in any Ulta stores though so be aware. I believe you can buy it at Dillards or Macy's.

Gotta pose with the cute little bottle! Duh~!

Here's the look for the day. It's simple and quite frankly the only time you will ever see me without a loud color.

I simply swiped Mac's Wedge into my crease in a rainbow like motion with a Mac 224. and it created a nice and natural crease for me.
I took Nyx's Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (which is a staple) and blended it out over my lid to create a sticky and long lasting surface for Mac's Crystal Avalanche, which I just patted onto my lid. If you pat the colors on the lid instead of swiping it, it will give you a lasting color and the shine will stay. Plus it makes the color stay true to it's color in the pan.
Now for my favorite trick! If you've stayed up all night, or are sick, or just look like shit, pop some flesh colored liner onto your water line. It instantly brightens your eyes and makes you look as if you had 9 hours of sleep instead of 6 hehe:) The best liner that I've found is called Topaz by Stila. It has a nice lasting effect and I tend to just reapply when I feel as though the color has faded. Let's face it, I love my black liner and will stay true. I hardly ever wear my Topaz unless I feel like I'm Dying. So I have no problem if I use too much of this product.

Here's my full face, I used my usual foundations. Used Mac's Shimmertime Pigment as a highlight, and mixed Illamasqua's Katie with Mac's Her Blooming cheek for the perfect overly flushed cheek that I ADORE! I used KatVonD eyeliner in Trooper. No wing, just a thin line, and Buxom Mascara. On my lips, I wore Rimmel's pink blush and no gloss today! GASP! I know!

Ok I snuck a little of Buxom's Samantha on BUT not enough for you to even know;)

On my nails today I wore China Glaze's Something Sweet from their summer Up Up and Away collection. This was my second bottle because it EXPLODED all over my car... thought you'd enjoy that side note. :)

Here's me, being a model. Soooo pretty! lolol

Model, again. Oh btw! The hat has sequins on it so it's SPARKLY~! YAY! I bought it from Old Navy along with a few others. The shirt also came from Old Navy in the Plus size section OF COURSE. I liked the shirt so much I bought it in every color.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! I know I did! I miss you sister! Can't wait for you to come back!

FOTD Tutorial::112410

Hey Everybody (aka my 3 friends)!!!!!!! I know it's been a week or 2 since i last posted. Today i decided to do something a little different. I'm posting my FOTD and will also be doing sort of a tutorial to show you the steps i take to achieve my look.

Every year MAC has a christmas collection with special edition sizes of different things. The collection this year is themed as "A Tartan Tale" which mimics an irish feel with plaid items. It's very cute and somewhat affordable. This year i took advantage of it and purchased 2 of the Pigment Sets and Her Blooming Lovely blush which is a BEAUTIFUL vibrant bright fuscia Pink!!!! AKA Made for Dori Christian. You can see that i am wearing the blush in the pictures above;)
ANYWAYS... I used a few of the pigments from the christmas collection as seen below.
First i primed my lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion which i depotted. It's in the smaller container below. Then i lightly primed my lid with Painterly Paintpot for a clean and smooth canvas.

Then i patted gently the Silver Fog pigment on to the inner third of my eyelid. It's very sheer and adds a pop of shine. If anyone knows me they know i love the shine and spotlight.

Then because i don't really have a well defined crease i like to sort of create a crease for myself with Wedge eyeshadow from MAC
After that i put Softwash Grey on the Outer third of my lid and slightly blended it with Silver Fog. Then i kind of brought a little up to blend in with the wedge on my "selfmade" crease. Again this is a sheertone.
Then i took Mauvement and swept it into the crease and slightly above so that the light color will shine through the top.
Now comes the fun part. It's my favorite color Sketch which i use practically every day. If i would recommend one color to someone from MAC it would definatly be this color! It's just gorgeous and blends with almost every color! LOVE LOVE LOVE. So i swirl my 224 brush into the sketch, then i kind of tap it onto a paper towel because it is so pigmented it will smush the color into the brush which helps to blend the color evenly. I sweep it into the crease. if you cant find the crease of your eye, place your brush between where your eyeball is and your bone that is right above the lid. open your eye and sweep your brush back and forth. The picture below kind of shows what i mean;)
Then, because i can't be neutral... ever, i added a POP of color. I used Free to be from MAC which is a corally pinky orangy beautiful whatever. I plopped it on the outside of sketch and blended the heck out of the two so that i could create a gradual fade effect to the highlight.
Next of course was the highlight which because i'm as white as a ghost i mix Vanilla and Gesso and it's the perfect highlight color for me... Casper.
Everyone's favorite part, well at least mine is, is the inner color highlight. I took Crystal Avalanch and popped it on the inside and blended it over into Silver Fog and up into Sketch. It makes the eyes appear larger and more awake!! So even if you go out all night and have work in the morning you can add this little pop of color to your inner corner and you look like you went to sleep at 6:00 pm like i did.
A lot of people don't think to use eyeshadow on the bottom lid but i say why not?!?!?! i took the golden color of my nars Cheyenne duo and swiped it on the inner lower lid and put the darker on the outside. This is my favorite trick to sweep the darker color from the lower lid and make a c shape straight up to your upper lid. it instantly creates a beautiful smokey effect. all you have to do is blend it out and you can be as pretty as me! JK... but really.
Then i do the normal, eyeliner and mascara. Then i put my Urban Decay eyeliner in 24/7 on my upper and lower waterline. If you want your waterline to stay all day a good trick is to set it with a matte black shadow. Anything WITHOUT shimmer will do. NYX has a great drugstore matte black but i used my MUFE.
I used my new favorite lipstick which is Rimmel Pink Blush which my mama bought me!! :) ty mama! To add a pop i took Reflects Pearl Pigment and dabbed it on the top and bottom of my lips only in the middle. it gives the effect of gloss without wearing any and brings the attention to your lips. It's subtle, yet beautiful!
I hope someone tries this look! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! and Eat a bunch! I know i will!

FOTD...111610 and a small haul.

I've never really liked to wear neutral colors but i'm slowly becoming an adult and feel like i should wear less purples and yellows and vear more towards the browns and blahs. Don't get me wrong i will still wear my bright beautiful colors, but today i felt like i needed more of the brown. So i went to my Handy brown eyeshadow palette from Wet n Wild which i LOVE! You all know this.

So with Sephora's holida party i picked these things up for 20% off.

I used everything on this page as well as a few other things... you know me... i can never be simple. So yes i used my usual eyeliner KatVonD in trooper. I also used MUFE's smokey lash Mascara by itself today with no other mascaras and i love it still.

I picked up this makeup forever foundation and so far so good. I like it and i feel like it matches my skin tone a lot better than the Nars Sheerglow. Sometimes i mix the two foundations since this is more of a sheer coverage foundation and i feel like Nars Sheerglow is more full coverage. Together they create a happy medium that works great for my skin if i'm going out. If i'm just going to work i mainly MUFE HD Foundation.

I got this Perfekt Primer in Luminous which i am IN LOVE with. It smooths out my skin tone and just creates a great smooth canvas. I love this and the MUFE HD works great with it.

Here's my FOTD As you can see my foundation looks much better and suits my skin tone perfectly.

And here's what the foundation looks like... along with my new blonder hair... YAY! I used both Katie blusher from illamasqua and Marine life beauty powder from MAC.

Oh...

And I wanted to Thank all 3(4) of my "Followers"!!!!!!!!! I love you Murrr and I love you Sister! and Thank you TJ!!!!!!!!! And Ashley keep trying lol.

FOTD::111110

First of all of Course, i used my Katie blusher from Illamasqua... I'm in love with this! It is the blush that ive always wished Well Dressed from MAC would be. I used Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse today for foundation. I like this foundation, it's not as long wearing as i like, but it gets the job done on a day to day basis. And as always i used my normal primers. On my eyes i used Urban Decay Primer Potion which is my fave eye primer and then i smoothed Macs Painterly Paint Pot for even more stick and a clean matte canvas. I also used NYX's Milk to make the whites whiter ;)

For my eyes i used my Wicked Duo from Nars. I used the lighter in the inner third of the lid. Then i used the brighter green above the crease to fade the darker green into my brow.

Other eyeshadows used were MUFE matte Black (not sure of the number), Wedge, Plumage, and Vanilla.

I used Vanilla as a brow Highlight. I used Plumage in the crease and the black to darken the plumage up a little bit. Then i used wedge to blend them out. I loved this combo today.

Of course i used my KatVonD eyeliner that i love OH so much! I also used NYX's milk after i put on my primers. I use milk if i want to brighten up a white or a lighter color. It's affordable and you can usually find it at Ulta.

Here are the brushes i used. I use these everyday.

Mac 224 - In my opinion, everyone needs this brush. it's perfect to blend anything out. i love it. Sometimes i use this to blend out my concealers as well.

MAC 227 - Use this for my brow highlight. It's also an amazing brush to blend away harsh edges.

MAC 109 - This is my favorite highlight and blush brush. i use this every day!

This is my Nail Combo today! It's OPI-Shorts Story (pink) and my ring finger is China Glaze-Four Leaf Clover

Sephora Friends and Family Haul! 2010! Online and In store!

SEPHORA FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAUL 2010
So i wasn't going to buy into this whole 20% off deal. Every time I'd go and look I'd just remind myself, You are only going to get like 13 dollars off, it's not worth it! But then...... in the same breath I'd think, You never get anything off from Sephora so you might as well get it all done now and get the 20% off because let's face it... you're going to eventually buy them anyways. Except I just so happen to know most of the lovely managers at my nearest Sephora store and also went in store to buy some stuff! So i really did more damage than any kind of saving. What errrr it's all done now anyways! The first 4 are what i purchased in store with the 20% off. And everything after was 20% online.

____________________________________________________________________________

Sephora Collection Professional Mineral Powder Brush #45 - $26 {after 20%-$20.8}
  • This is spectacular! I love it! It's perfect for applying my foundation. It's soft and it's just great to buff your fave product into your skin. I also use it to buff in my MSFN, AND I stiple my concealor onto my undereyes with this.

Buxom Samantha Smoky Eye Kit-$42 {aftter 20%-$33.6}
  • I do not have the original box that these came in because I got excited and totally threw it away!

  • It comes with:

A full size Buxom Lip Polish in Samantha which is pretty amazing. I've wanted to try one of these for the longest time, but i've always been kind of turned off by Bare Essentials products. Their original and matte powder foundations both didn't react well with my skin so i've been a little weary. This Lip polish isn't too pigmented but goes well with any nude or pinkish lipsticks. Ive been wearing mine with Of Royalty, Prive, or Myth. It gives a spectacular peachy tone to your lips which is flattering to fair skin. What makes this lip gloss unique is that it has a minty fresh finish after about 2 minutes of wearing. It's not at all burning and didn't hurt me AT ALL. I quite like peppermint cooling feeling it gives.

It also comes with a full size tube of the Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black. This is the reason i wanted this product to begin with. I've been in a bit of a Mascara Funk and can't find one that i really just can't live without so i gave this a try. It's got a fanstastic Huge Plastic brush which kind of Tapers in the center. I like it... it's ok... but idk if it's my favorite. I think i'm going to stick with MUFE smokey lash.

There's also a Smokey Eye Stick and a Smoky Eye Brush. The eyeliner is pretty big and i'm not quite sure if it is water line safe. I like it but i've used better. I've been wearing it in my waterline and kinda gets itchy after a while. I did swatch it on my hand and after 5 minutes you couldn't rub it off with a wet cloth, so the stay power of it is great. It came right off with a Neutragena Wipe. The Brush is ok. It's more like the Sonia Kashuk blender brush than a 224 or a 226 from mac. It tapers at the end and comes to a point. It's just a little too rough for me to smoke out my eye with it.

All in all i really enjoy the lipgloss and somewhat like the mascara.

Boscia Peppermint Blotting Linens - $5 {after 20% - $4}

  • They are good... they're refreshing. I touched a little more on these on a blogpost from before.

Sephora Collection Face Complexion Brush - $5 {after 20% - $4}

  • It's pretty good. It's the closest thing to a Clarisonic that i can afford being as it's only 5 dollars lol.

Overall on this in-store purchase, I saved $15.60 Before Taxes were taken. But I'm slick and returned 2 lipsticks (Urban Decay- Lovechild which was too dark, and Smashbox - Pout which pretty much had NO pigmentation) So in the end of this purchase i only paid $27 (at least that's what i keep telling myself).

Now onto the Online purchase with 20% off

Below is 2 pictures of everything i bought. Doesn't it make your mouth Drool?!?

**Singing the Little Mermaid AHH AHH AHHH... AHH AHH AHH. AHHH AHHH AHHHH

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Wicked - $32 ($10 with Sephora Promo){after 20%-$8}
  • This is one of 2 of the Sephora Specials for Nars Duo eyeshadows. These were going for $10. I'm not sure how long this will be on sale but it still is right now. This one has an awesome name. When you look at the colors it reminds me exactly of the play Wicked. The lighter green is not very visible. It's perfect for an inner Corner highlight. The darker green is very vibrant, has awesome pigmentation. I can see myself wearing kind of a smokey eye and putting the darker of the two lining my bottom lid for an extra "pop."

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Cheyenne - $32 ($10 with Sephora Discount){after 20%$8}

  • This next duo is AMAZING for the fall or winter. the Orange color reminds me of MACs Off the Page and the other reminds me of MACs Cranberry. But when swatched next to eachother the orange color is more golden and the cranberry color is more like MACs Cranberry had sex with Sketch and made a crazy Cransketchberry Baby.
(THE SWATCHES ON THE LEFT ARE THE MAC SHADOWS MENTIONED - As you can tell i was wayyyyy off on the colors but hey... gotta go with what ya got!)

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie-$24 {after 20% - $19.2}

  • Ok... This is what i was MOST excited about and let me tell you i was NOT let down! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It is so pigmented that all you need to do is dip your blush brush into the blush ONCE and you are good to go. I cant tell you how much i'm loving this! I cannot wait to get more~! It's a light toned blue pink color and it looks gorgeous on lighter skin tones.

This swatch was me swiping my finger over it ONCE! It will be beautiful on fair or pail skin as well as darker complexions. I LOVE this blush! cannot say it enough.

Waterproof Smoky Lash Kit- $22 {after 20%-$17.6)

  • What can I say? I love this Mascara. I've tried the nonwaterproof and for some reason the waterproof just agrees with me more. I love it. I'm wearing it today with Buxom Lashes. So far they work better together. It was an excelent deal. I love MUFE kits during the holidays.
